What tarot is, how it works, and whether it's worth your time.

ABOUT THE READINGS

What is tarot? How does the AI read it? +

Tarot is a centuries-old system of symbols. The most common deck — the Rider-Waite-Smith — has 78 cards, each carrying its own imagery: figures, objects, numbers, colors. People have used it for reflection long before AI existed.

Here's how it works on Echoir: you bring a question, we draw the cards for you (no manual picking), and the AI reads the symbols in light of what you asked — offering one angle you might not have arrived at on your own.

Does tarot predict the future? +

No — and anyone who promises that is selling you something. A tarot reading is a mirror, not a window. The cards give you a fresh vocabulary to look at a situation you're already living in. What you do with that perspective is entirely up to you.

USING ECHOIR

Is it accurate? +

Honestly, "accuracy" is the wrong frame for divination. If you come in asking will X definitely happen?, you'll probably leave disappointed. If you come in curious about a blind spot in your own thinking, a reading tends to be useful.

We put effort into the craft — careful prompt design, real solar-time correction for any time-based reading — but the value lives in the reframing, not in a verdict.

How many times can I ask? Is it free? +

Without signing in, you get one free tarot reading every day. After that, you keep going with credits: a single-card draw costs 2 credits, a three-card spread costs 6. New accounts get 10 free credits on signup.

Why should I sign up? +

You don't have to — the daily free reading works without an account.

Signing up gives you 10 free credits, lets you revisit past readings anytime, and lets you top up credits. We only need an email — no phone number, no spam. You can also sign in with Google or GitHub.

PRIVACY

Are my questions and readings saved? +

It depends on whether you're signed in.

Signed out (anonymous reading): your input exists only in memory for the moment of the reading, then it's gone. Nothing is stored.

Signed in: your readings are saved to your account — the question, the cards, the full text — so you can return to them later. You can delete any individual reading or all of them from your account page, anytime.

In either mode, we never sell your data or use it for ads. See our Privacy Policy.
